Trial & Store Policies

Instrument trial policy

You can try up to two instruments for five days, starting from the day the delivery is received. A refundable $300 security deposit is required, charged to a valid credit card.

  • If you buy one of the instruments, we'll provide a UPS return label for the other. If you don't buy either, you're responsible for return shipping and insurance on both.
  • You're fully responsible for the instruments and any included accessories during the trial. Accessories must be returned unused; missing or damaged accessories will be charged to your credit card.
  • Trial instruments must be returned in the same condition they were received and will be carefully inspected on return.
  • Instruments bought after a trial are final sale and can't be returned, so please choose carefully.

Ligature trial policy

  • All ligatures for trial must be prepaid; payment must be received before we ship.
  • Returns are accepted only if postmarked within 7 days of the invoice date.
  • Ligatures must come back in like-new condition. Please wipe each one down after use. No exceptions.
  • If no purchase is made, a 6% handling fee is deducted from the refund.

Mouthpiece and barrel trial policy

  • All mouthpieces and barrels for trial must be prepaid before we ship. You can try up to three mouthpieces.
  • Returns are accepted only if postmarked within 7 days of the invoice date.
  • Please don't scratch mouthpieces with ligatures or teeth. Protect them with electrical tape or mouthpiece patches over the beak and where the ligature sits.
  • If no purchase is made, returned items are subject to a 6% handling fee.
  • We ship trials free within the USA. Take one week to play-test, then contact us if you'd like to return anything.

New York, NY 10019. You're responsible for return shipping. Refunds (minus the 6% handling fee) are issued within one week of receiving your package.

Products must be in new condition to be returned. Dirt, nicks, scratches, bite marks and discoloration count as damage; damaged items will be sent back to you and treated as purchased. All original packaging must be included. Items returned in any other condition may be subject to a cleaning or 25% repair fee.

7-day return policy

Products may be returned within 7 days of receipt in new, unused condition for a refund. Signs of wear such as dirt, nicks, scratches, bite marks or discoloration count as damage; damaged items will be returned to you as final sale. All original packaging and materials must be included.

Price match promise

Found a lower price on the same item at another U.S. dealer? Let us know and we'll match it.

  • The item must be new and identical: same brand, model and options.
  • The other dealer must be an authorized U.S. retailer with the item in stock. Marketplace, auction, used, B-stock and clearance listings don't qualify.
  • We compare the total price including shipping.
  • Send us a link before you order, or within 14 days after buying from us and we'll refund the difference.
  • Price matches can't be combined with other discounts, including Reed Rewards. We may decline obvious pricing errors.

Buying a used instrument

Each used instrument is one of a kind, so they are sold a little differently:

  • Payment is by bank transfer (ACH) only. At checkout you connect your U.S. bank account securely through Stripe; the transfer takes about 4 business days to clear.
  • A used instrument is checked out on its own, separately from any other items in your cart.
  • We ship once the payment has cleared. If an instrument sells before your payment clears, we refund you in full.

Shipping

  • Free U.S. shipping on supply orders of $65 or more to any U.S. address, including Alaska, Hawaii, Guam and Puerto Rico. These go by budget shipping, which usually arrives within 10 business days of leaving our warehouse.
  • Supply orders under $65 ship for a flat $7.50.
  • Stands, cases and instruments are not supplies and don't count toward free shipping.
  • Orders with an instrument or an instrument case ship for a flat $30, including any supplies in the same order.
  • Express shipping is available on request for an additional charge.
  • Offer subject to change without notice.

International orders and outside the lower 48

Online checkout ships to U.S. addresses. For international orders, and for APO, FPO and other U.S. territories, please email us and we'll quote shipping before we send anything. All international orders ship express with signature required. Customs duties are the receiver's responsibility.
